What kinds of birds are at Horicon Marsh? - Alex, Jackson, Wis.

The Horicon Marsh Bird Club has listed 288 species on their Horicon Marsh Bird Checklist, which you can print out and use.

Most of the birds who live in the big cattail marsh are waterfowl, but flocks of migrants stop to rest and feed during the spring and fall migrations.

During the Horicon Marsh Bird Festival in May, you can join the dawn-to-dusk Big Sit. On average, 79 species are sighted; the high is 112.
