Looking for a family reunion cabinWe are a family of 15 and are looking for a reunion cabin with room. Four families and we all have boats, like to fish and just hang out on the lake. We are currently in a cabin in northern Minnesota, but the price keeps going up. Can you recommend anything in Wisconsin with good fishing? - Amy, Green Bay
If you're looking for this summer, you'll have a hard time finding a vacancy — most reunion cabins rent a year or more in advance. The last two weeks of August will be your best bet.
You can find good fishing all over northern Wisconsin. The trick is finding a place you like at the price you can afford.
Go to lodgings page at Travel Wisconsin. Check under three categories — Cabins & Cottages, Resorts and Condos & Vacation Homes — marking the boxes for "On the Water,'' "More than 3 Bedrooms'' and "Boat Launch,'' and see what comes up.
In general, you'll pay more in the Minocqua and Hayward areas, so you may want to look in other places, including the U.P.
You could also check VRBO and HomeAway for private rentals; for more, see Renting a vacation house.
