What weather to expect on motorcycle tour of Lake Superior?

We're planning a Circle Tour of Lake Superior by motorcycle. What kind of weather can we expect the last week of May through the first week of June? - Mary, Osakis, Minn.

Lake Superior is notoriously unpredictable. The weather could be warm and sunny or rainy and raw. Definitely bring rain gear, fleece jackets and warm gloves.

Pluses: You probably won't need to make reservations except for Memorial Day weekend. Canadian schools don't even get out until the third week of June, so that area will be quiet.

Also, there shouldn't be gnats and black flies, unless there's a big warm-up in late spring.

One minus, besides fickle weather: There won't be a lot of festivals and other events in the towns around the lake.
