    This juried art show along the Lake Superior harbor includes children's activities, art demonstrations, a pie social and live music.


  • Fisherman's Picnic (Jul 30 – Aug 2)

    Grand Marais, MN

    There's a lot going on at the North Shore's biggest festival, including loon-calling, log-rolling, herring-eating and rock-skipping contests; Saturday fireworks; and the grand parade on Sunday.

    The main event is canceled in 2020, but locals are working to organize some music, food stands and fireworks.

    WTIP, North Shore Community Radio, hosts this outdoor fest of more than 25 local and regional music acts next to the municipal campground.

    The harbor-side North House Folk School celebrates with storytelling, traditional workshops, a fish boil and concerts by songwriter/musicians.

  • Moose Madness Festival (Oct. 16 – 18)

    This Lake Superior town offers  a medallion hunt, family geocaching contest, fun run, appearances by Murray the Moose and family courses at the North House Folk School.

  • Lake Superior Storm Festival (Nov. 6 – 8)

    Grand Marais, MN

    This festival features a wave dash, shipwreck stories, and children's activities.


  • Winterer's Gathering (Nov. 20 – 22)

    Grand Marais, MN

    There's a tent encampment, winter skills seminars, Arctic film festival and chili feed at the North House Folk School.
