    It's the biggest day of the year for boat nerds at the Soo Locks. People can walk across the locks, and there's also an arts, crafts and family fun fair.

  • International Bridge Walk (Jun 29)

    Sault Ste. Marie, MI

    Walk across the St. Mary's River to Canada at 9:30 a.m. or ride a bike there and back between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m.

    Walkers can take a bus back from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., for $5 and must bring a passport. Otherwise, the event is free.


  • Rendezvous at the Sault (Jul 27 – 28)

    Reenactors, musicians and artisans bring back the fur-trade era with cannon-firing, puppet shows, storytelling and games.


  • Fall Festival (Sep. 28)

    Beer-barrel relay races, polka lessons, a farm  market and a tug of war are part of this downtown festival. The Sault International Marathon is held in the morning.
