  1. Grant Park Music Festival

    Professional musicians, many of them world-famous, offer free concerts nearly every evening in Millennium Park's beautiful Pritzker Pavilion. This year's schedule includes Bernstein's West Side Story, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Broadway Sings America.

  2. Minnesota Yacht Club Festival

    Thirty acts will perform on two stages at this music festival, on Harriet Island across from downtown St. Paul. Headliners include the Lumineers, Matchbox Twenty and the Strokes.

  3. Northwest Water Carnival

    Detroit Lakes, MN2026-07-19

    This big festival celebrates its 90th year with a sand-castle contest, water fights, ship-building (in less than 30 minutes), beer tasting, watermelon feed, bike tour and more. On the last day, there's a big parade at 1 p.m.

  4. Sinclair Lewis Days

    Sauk Centre, MN2026-07-19

    The hometown of the Nobel Prize-winning author celebrates with such events as turtle races, bicycle stunts, Friday fireworks, a craft fair, music and a parade Saturday.

  5. Bavarian Blast

    New Ulm, MN2026-07-19

    In addition to German music, food and beer, this festival at the Brown County Fair Grounds features stein-holding, barrel-rolling and sauerkraut-eating contests, plus a Sunday parade.

  6. Paperfest

    Kimberly, WI2026-07-19

    This Fox Cities town celebrates its heritage with toilet-paper tosses, lawn games, human foosball, a firefighter tug of war and 35 bands on three stages in Sunset Park.

  7. Country Thunder Wisconsin Music Festival

    The country-music festival between Lake Geneva and Kenosha features Keith Urban, Riley Green and the Red Clay Strays. There's camping onsite.

  8. Lumberjack Days

    This music festival along the St. Croix River also features lumberjack shows and such attractions as a downhill derby, hammerschlagen, helicopter rides and a parade. 

  9. Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival

    Marquette, MI2026-07-19

    This folk-music festival in Tourist Park also features a juried arts and crafts show and camping on-site.

  10. Honor the Earth Pow-wow

    Hayward, WI2026-07-19

    The Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa holds one of the largest powwows in North America, with dancing, singing and crafts plus a cooking contest, run/walk and softball tournament. 

  11. Wannigan Days

    St. Croix Falls, WI2026-07-19

    St. Croix Falls and its cross-river neighbor, Taylors Falls, pay tribute to lumberjacks and river pigs with rock and country music, an arts and crafts fair, a Saturday parade and fireworks.

  12. Agate Days

    Moose Lake, MN2026-07-19

    See the beautiful stones on display, then dig for them at 3 p.m. Saturday during the Agate Stampede, when a load of rocks seeded with 400 pounds agates, $400 in quarters and $100 in 50-cent pieces is dumped downtown.

    A week of music and games winds up with an 11 a.m. street parade and, at dusk, a lighted boat parade followed by fireworks.

    In this river town south of St. Paul, there will be 25 bands on four stages, plus a carnival, arts & crafts fair and classic-car show.

  16. Fiesta Days

    There's a Music Fest, carnival, beach bash, car show and fireworks in Petersen Park the first weekend. The second weekend, there's an art and street fair Saturday and a 1:30 p.m. Sunday parade on Main Street.

  17. Water Days

    In this lakes town near Sibley State Park, there's a water-ski show, parade, kids' fishing derby and fireworks.
